Destination: Taneka-Kobo
Come visit our traditional village with its round huts nestled into the picturesque hills that surround us. While you are here, you can visit our Sacred Temples and for a donation of 1 500CFA you can even receive spiritual guidance from our local Fetisheur.
Attractions
- The Three Natural Pools of Taneka-Kobo
Come relax by the gentle flowing waters of these completely natural formations, which carved themselves from the bed of a stream. The pools are located at the end of a4 km hike from Taneka-Kobo. The site has a modest shelter, which is open to the public at any time.
- "Valoum" Sacred Grotto
Just 2 km from Taneka-Kobo one can find a majestic grotto. While the visits are free, it's well worth your while to have one of the local guides give you a complete tour. Guides will give you a one and a half to two hour tour for as little as 1 500CFA.

- Traditional Celebrations
Between November and May you will often encounter days of traditional celebrations that will allow you to taste the true culture of the taneka.
- Walking Excursions
To get an authentic look at the culture of the taneka you will want to take a stroll to the surrounding villages where you can encounter local sights and conversation.

More than likely your auto-taxi will stop in Djougou and from there you
will have to take a moto-taxi the rest of the way. The total cost listed
above includes the 5 000CFA to 7 000CFA price of the moto-taxi.
Best time to visit
November to May you will have beautiful weather for travel but the rest of the year thunderstorms are prevalent.
Lodging
A campground is located near the pools where one can say for 1 500 to 2 000CFA per night.
When school is not is session, one can sleep in the school after negotiating the price with the local director or groundskeeper.

Local Markets:
The market
is held at night beginning at around 5p.m. Aside from the usual wares, the market
flows freely with "Tchoukoutou", the local beer.
